The MOWERCYCLE!

This MowerCycle was created by some DIY-genius out of an old bicycle and a broken lawnmower, we’re saying “DIY-genius” because his identity remains unknown - and this cannot be found at online do-it-yourself stores or something. Of course the efficiency of this is questioned since we assume riding a bike on grass isn’t the easiest thing to do, but the concept is brilliant!

as far as going green this is a great idea. people probably don’t realize hopw many tons of emissions their john deere pumps out each year. and a good workout to boot.

Not sure if the colors are the same, but I’ve seen this bike in East Portland Oregon. I do know that several neighbors use it to mow their lawns, courtesy of the chill’run.

It’s a mountain bike which means it’s geared low. It’s probably runs nice and smooth over the lawn.
Although I’d put some oil on that chain.

Too much weight on the front to make it easy to push around. Redesign it where you pull the mower part, or at least change the center of gravity off the handlebars a bit and maybe put two wheels in back to give you a bit more tracktion?
Good idea though, especially for big lawns
Keep the blades sharp. I have used those by hand and you have to go over a spot several times to get it cut right.

Well, I used push mowers a few years back, about 1949-50. I didn’t have to go over a spot, but I guess my dad kept the blades sharp. I do remember that some mowers were a lot easier to push than others. We had one that was a real bear, esp. for a 9 year old kid. The neighbor had one that I would borrow, it pushed like a dream compared to ours. If one could find one that cut good and pushed easily, a contraption like the one above might work pretty good.
