Tribute To Animal Actors

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

alioop.jpg

Beloved bear and accomplished animal actor Ali-oop, has passed away. The cuddly Kodiak appeared in numerous films, most notably Dr. Dolittle 2, and was known for his trademark kiss, where he would stick his tongue out and let anybody give him a smooch.

The passing of Ali-oop sheds light on the ongoing plight of non-human performers. Often overwoked, underfed, and never given ample recognition for their contribution to films. So besides from Ali-oop, we’ll toast a few more animal thespians who more often than not, shine brighter than their on-screen, homo-sapien counterparts.

Greatest All Time Posthumous Performances

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

ledger.jpg

Heath Ledger has created serious critical buzz for his portrayal as The Joker in The Dark Knight, and there are even talks of him being awarded an Oscar posthumously for his work in the film. This made me consider other actors who have shined on the silver screen long after their lives were cut short, and led me to compile a list of the five greatest ever movie performances delivered from beyond the grave.

Watchmen Trailer

watchmen.jpg

I don’t know anything about Watchmen outside the fact that it is an insanely popular graphic novel that is about to be turned in to an insanely popular film. The effects look sick, their isn’t some huge Hollywood name hogging the screen, and the trailer doesn’t show all the best parts of the movie.

THE DARK KNIGHT

Christian Bale as Batman is going to smash Meryl Streep back to the Deer Hunter this weekend in Movie Showdown. They could make this movie in Lego and people would still go see it over Mamma Mia!

Terminator Salvation Trailer Released

Terminator4.jpeg

The first previews for Terminator Salvation just came out, and despite the fact I have no fucking idea what’s happening for the entire minute, it still made me cream in my Corn Flakes.

Christian Bale is EVERYWHERE right now. I’ve seen so many Dark Knight trailers I’m starting to think that Heath Ledger may have accidentally overdosed on the advertising for his own film. Too soon?

Burn After Reading Preview

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

burn_after

The Coen Brothers made the greatest movie of all time, The Big Lebowski, and took home the Oscar for Best Picture last year with No Country For Old Men, so obviously they know their shit.

Which makes it even harder to figure out why they went out and got the two ugliest women in Hollywood to be their female stars in their upcoming feature release, Burn After Reading, which opens in early September. I’m pretty sure Frances McDormand, Joel Coen’s wife, has man parts, Tilda Swinton looks like an albino reptile, and between the two of them they have maybe half a good tit.

I guess when you’re that good you don’t need hot ass to sell your film. But it couldn’t hurt.

Either way I’ma check out the trailer, and so should you (more…)

DeNiro and Pacino:Righteous Kill

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

rk-one-sheet-poster-final.jpg

When these two movie legends appeared on screen together for the first time ever in Heat, film junkies all over the world got their fix. Those same junkies better be prepared to overdose, because Righteous Kill is nothing but Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino holding gats and saying sweet shit like ‘Nothing wrong with a little shooting, as long as the right people get shot’.

The only troubling thing about this movie is 50 Cent is in it, and he is using the fake name Curtis Jackson like he’s a real actor or something. Everybody knows the only successful rapper turned actor is Rob Van Winkle in Cool as Ice. Everybody else can just stop trying, cause you can’t top that. And if you haven’t seen Cool as Ice, and you don’t know who Rob Van Winkle is, check your pulse, cause you ain’t livin’.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH

journeytothecenterpic1.jpg

This movie will fail. Another remake that no doubt spits on the grave of the original for the sake of a quick buck. The only cool thing about this movie is that it is in 3D, and it has dinosaurs. The only thing worse than Brendan Fraser’s acting is AIDS, and even AIDS hated George of the Jungle. The End.

HELLBOY II

Hellboy_godfather.jpg

The first one combined three of my favorite things; killing Nazi’s, cigar smoking superheroes, and Jeffrey Tambor. Let’s hope Guillermo Del Toro maintains his winning ways in the sequel, which looks even more stacked with special-effects than the first. Plus Selma Blair actually looks half-fuckable in the trailer. I guess there really is a first time for everything.

NASA Makes Magnetic Fields Visible - Video
Ok, so science never excited me too much, but this is one of the coolest, weirdest, wicked videos I have ever seen.

It’s part of an award-winning movie called “Magnetic Movie” and was filmed at NASA Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkley.

Hunter S. Thompson Bio Looks Nucking Futs

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

gonzo_poster.jpg

The trailer for Gonzo:The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson just gave me a boner, and this time it wasn’t due to my irrational attraction to promotional videos. For anyone who has seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, they will know that Hunter S. Thompson was a drug fuelled, take-no-shit, certified psycho journalist, who invented his own brand of reporting the news, and dubbed it gonzo. This looks like a straight biography, except on LSD, and with tons of home footage of the man himself, and countless cameos from those who were lucky enough to be close to Hunter.

The Day The Earth Stood Still Trailer
Keanu Reeves is Canadian acting robot sent to Hollywood to infiltrate and destroy the movie industry by ruining films that should be cool, i.e. Constantine. But even his sabotage can’t ruin this re-made classic, about an alien visitor who warns Earth of the dangers of taking war in to space. The film also stars Jennifer Connolly , who is super sexy, in a take her home to meet your mom kind of way. Plus she went ass to ass in Requiem For a Dream, so you know she is willing to do pretty much anything to make a movie work.

Eddie Murphy Is Washed Up

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

eddie_murphy.jpg

Eddie Murphy, pictured here immediately after crapping in his pants, is one of my favorite people in Hollywood. He thinks just because he has been in a few good movies (Delirious, Dreamgirls, and Coming To America), that he can be forgiven for serving up some of the steamiest piles of dogshit ever put to film (Norbit, Haunted Mansion, Adventure of Pluto Nash). People also seem to forget that he got sucked off by a tranny.

Clear off a space on the mantle Eddie, cause you’re in line for another Razzie Award with your latest effort, Meet Dave, which stars Murphy as a giant spaceship inhabited by miniature aliens that have come to earth. Huh?

I triple-dog dare you to watch the trailer and tell me this looks good (more…)
