Tribute To Animal Actors

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

alioop.jpg

Beloved bear and accomplished animal actor Ali-oop, has passed away. The cuddly Kodiak appeared in numerous films, most notably Dr. Dolittle 2, and was known for his trademark kiss, where he would stick his tongue out and let anybody give him a smooch.

The passing of Ali-oop sheds light on the ongoing plight of non-human performers. Often overwoked, underfed, and never given ample recognition for their contribution to films. So besides from Ali-oop, we’ll toast a few more animal thespians who more often than not, shine brighter than their on-screen, homo-sapien counterparts.

san marino historic center and mount titano.jpg

The world governing body took time out if it’s busy schedule of sitting on it’s hands and sifting through red tape recently, to name seven new Man-made Natural Wonders that will be preserved as World Heritage sites. Pictured above is the San Marino Historic Center and Mount Titano. The Guida Fortress sits on a precipice in the small republic of San Marino, which is considered the oldest republic
in the world.

Out of The Box Graffiti

Out of The Box Graffiti
D.Billy is a graffiti and comics artist that adds additional dimensions to his work and combines different elements that we don’t usually see in traditional graffiti. Here’s how he describes it:

Using colorful media such as twisting balloons, party streamers, and artist tape, I have begun to add visual representations of sound effects to public spaces as a sort of dimensional graffiti. After embellishing the found scenes and photographing the results, I leave my additions in place to engage passers-by for as long as the materials hold up.

We think this kind of art is brilliant, but how long can a balloon really last before it gets out of air or some punk decides to pop it..? it’s quite cool when it’s fresh though, that’s for sure.

NASA Makes Magnetic Fields Visible - Video
Ok, so science never excited me too much, but this is one of the coolest, weirdest, wicked videos I have ever seen.

It’s part of an award-winning movie called “Magnetic Movie” and was filmed at NASA Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkley.

Lion Kills Eagle

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Pictures removed due to copyright issues, somebody isn’t smart enough to know that putting your photograph on The Daily Buzzer isn’t way too cool than putting it on some shity museum.

There is nothing better than getting drunk with your friends and arguing about which animal would win in a hypothetical battle to the death. My personal favorites include the Giraffe vs. Gorilla With A Baseball Bat debate, or the classic Bear vs. Tiger With Spikes On It’s Back discussion. For whatever reason, these situations rarely play out in real life, but over the weekend in a Canadian zoo, the Lion vs. Eagle scenario became a reality, when a professionally trained golden eagle flew in to a lion’s den, and was destroyed by the king of the jungle. You would think that an animal with wings would be better at escaping from one that doesn’t, like, let’s say, a lion. You would also think I could stay sober long enough to remember to feed my dog. RIP Sir Humpsalot.

Nelson Mandela Is Old

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

nelson_mandela.jpg

Nelson Mandela
turned 90 today, and a massive party was held in Hyde Park, London, to celebrate his life, and to support his charity 46664, which signifies the number he wore while being held in prison for 27 years. Will Smith took time out of his busy schedule being the whitest black guy on the planet to host the event, and Amy Winehouse took the straw out of her nose just long enough to perform for the living legend.

This just adds to the mountains of proof that Nelson Mandela is the baddest mofo on the planet. Nelson Mandela could fuck your girlfriend and steal your last slice of pizza from the fridge and you would walk in the door and high-five him.

Anti-Paparazzi Sunglasses

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I’m pretty sure that if celebrities weren’t living off the fame paparazzi’s granted them, they would be all wearing those anti-paparazzi sunglasses, basically killing the whole industry, including this almighty, forever-there blog.

But they are - so I don’t think they will wear these, but if for some reason someone wants to go underground, or is just sick of the paprazzi, like say if Britney Spears suddenly becomes a good singer again (?) and doesn’t need to flash her vagina for attention, she can find this video useful.

Gina Concept - BMW Getting Into Textile Fabric?

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

BMW Gina - Car Concept Made from Textile Fabirc
About two weeks ago I shared my top 5 super-cars with you, and if BMW Gina wasn’t a concept - it would definitely be there.

What’s very special in this car is that instead of the traditional steel and plastic body shell, the GINA concept uses a textile fabric starches over a wire frame, which basically means this car has shape-shifting abilities.

The flexibility of car can be seen when the car door or bonnet opens and it is also much lighter as it is made out of light weight materials. While it may not hit the sales-floor - BMW Gina is perhaps an evidence that companies are looking for lighter alternatives.
