The MOWERCYCLE!

The MOWERCYCLE!
This MowerCycle was created by some DIY-genius out of an old bicycle and a broken lawnmower, we’re saying “DIY-genius” because his identity remains unknown - and this cannot be found at online do-it-yourself stores or something. Of course the efficiency of this is questioned since we assume riding a bike on grass isn’t the easiest thing to do, but the concept is brilliant!

If anyone has any details on this, let us know!

Out of The Box Graffiti

Out of The Box Graffiti
D.Billy is a graffiti and comics artist that adds additional dimensions to his work and combines different elements that we don’t usually see in traditional graffiti. Here’s how he describes it:

Using colorful media such as twisting balloons, party streamers, and artist tape, I have begun to add visual representations of sound effects to public spaces as a sort of dimensional graffiti. After embellishing the found scenes and photographing the results, I leave my additions in place to engage passers-by for as long as the materials hold up.

We think this kind of art is brilliant, but how long can a balloon really last before it gets out of air or some punk decides to pop it..? it’s quite cool when it’s fresh though, that’s for sure.

solar-car-1.jpg

Starting in Dallas, Texas, and ending nine days later in Calgary, Alberta, the North American Solar Car Challenge will feature some of the brightest young minds, racing their sun powered creations across the continent.

Most of these cars look like they were designed by my nine year old cousin on the back of an Applebee’s placemat, but due credit to the teams involved, mostly from Colleges and Universities in Canada and the U.S., who have no doubt missed countless episodes of Startgate:Atlantis in order to take the time and effort to design and build these technologcal wonders.

Sand Sculptures: Art I Can Destroy

sandcastle1.jpg

Some truly incredible stuff from artists all over the world, who have gathered in the tiny seaside town of Somerset, England for the Sand Sculpture Festival 2008. The theme for this year is ‘Around the World’, and featured works include an Empire State Building complete with King Kong, and a twelve foot model of British landmark, Big Ben.

How much fun would it be to trample all these sandcastles at the end of the competition? The only thing better than building sandcastles, is pretending they are Japanese people and stomping on them afterwards like you’re Godzilla. Sorry Japan, but you had it coming for stealing baseball. Not cool Japan. Not cool.

We don’t have a teaser image for this one because we don’t want to ruin the fun. Trust me, it’s one of the best optical illusions you’ll ever see.

Moving Skyscrapper to be Built in Dubai

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Those of you who’ve been reading The Daily Buzzer long enough know that we’re great fans of art and design concepts; No, not the Godly-designed babes, but human-invented stuff - like this moving skyscrapper set to be built in Dubai.

The world’s first moving building, an 80-storey tower with revolving floors giving a shifting shape, will be built in Dubai, its architect says.

The Dynamic Tower design is made up of 80 pre-fabricated apartments which will spin independently of one another.

The 420-metre (1,378-foot) building’s apartments would spin a full 360 degrees, at voice command, around a central column by means of 79 giant power-generating wind turbines located between each floor.

The apartments, which will take between one and three hours to make a complete rotation, will cost from $3.7m to $36m.

Gina Concept - BMW Getting Into Textile Fabric?

BMW Gina - Car Concept Made from Textile Fabirc
About two weeks ago I shared my top 5 super-cars with you, and if BMW Gina wasn’t a concept - it would definitely be there.

What’s very special in this car is that instead of the traditional steel and plastic body shell, the GINA concept uses a textile fabric starches over a wire frame, which basically means this car has shape-shifting abilities.

The flexibility of car can be seen when the car door or bonnet opens and it is also much lighter as it is made out of light weight materials. While it may not hit the sales-floor - BMW Gina is perhaps an evidence that companies are looking for lighter alternatives.

Sam Roberts Sims 2 Video Clip - "Them Kids" from "Love at the End of the World" album

My buddy Gert from Flabber found this cool video; Sam Roberts sings “Them Kids” from “Love at the End of the World” album, which is a totally cool song about how today’s hip-hop kids can’t do Rock-n’-Roll, but the video is even more impressive - made in a Sims 2 style.

Top iPhone Skin Designs

Do you have an iPhone or have your eyes set on buying the new iPhone 3G? Well if you do, did you know that you can differentiate yourself from the masses with an iPhone skin? Not only do these vinyl skin covers protect your phone against scratches, they also give a whole new identity to the device. For less than $10, an iPhone skin adds color to the back of the phone (some also include images for the front) and an electronic image for the phone background

My top five favorite iPhone skin designs come from Urban Retro. This site incorporates well-known artists and their pieces into the iPhone design. Check out the iPhone skin designs (more…)
